This year I'm streamlining my life. Why? I want more time to write. I want time to play with my kiddos. And I want to be less stressed overall. First order of attack: the family dinner menu! I read about kinda meal plan that basically involved writing down the meals you frequently eat. So I sat down and wrote out all of the meals I already know how to make to see how many days I could cover. Yes, that's my rushed list of 23 possible meals that I know I can make. It was seriously sweet and cathartic to look at that hot mess.
With list in hand, I shuffled about my kitchen checking for ingredients. What I lacked fleshed out a new shopping list. One hour! That's all it took. One focused hour! Now I still need to shop and prep, but that's another time. Knowing the options for dinner for a whole month is freeing on a primal level. Since this my first attempt at this new meal planning method, I'll post back in February (or March) with an update. Rough Menu Planning Update -- link to post
