Rotten Bugs

Tonight I brought home Little Debbie Oatmeal Cream Pies for my kids. These were one of the treats my grandmother had at her house each time we visited. I grew up thinking they were the best and blame them for my love of soft cookies.
Here's how my eldest reacted to this wonderful treat:

"Oh my God, I remember those from when I was a baby. They taste like rotten bugs."

Incidently she used the same description for the pulled pork I made for dinner. (Here's the recipe I use on FoodNetwork just substitute a crock pot.)
This is evidently her new, current best insult.

So I made her rotten bugs.

Yes, you read that right. I made my bratty kid rotten bugs.
Now, should you ever want to attempt this, realize you do not need actual bugs, rotten or otherwise. I used only things I had on hand.
-Green food dye
-Tapioca pudding (dyed green)
-Angel hair pasta (for "legs")
-Rice

This video shows how much she really likes rotten bugs!

So, after she calmed down, we discussed WHY she got rotten bugs for breakfast.

Me: You said all the food I made yesterday tasted like rotten bugs. So today I gave you rotten bugs.

EG: Fine. Next time I'll say it tastes like donuts.
Yeah, she's quick like that. My future as a parent is going to be interesting.
