Long Shot Review

5/28/2019

For what it is worth (FWIW), my husband is a rather big Seth Rogen fan. I'm not exactly there with him. Some Seth Rogen movies I laugh at; other's I've turned off within the first 10 minutes (or begun fast-forwarding, hoping for improvement).

So, when my husband suggested Long Shot as a date night movie, I wasn't overly thrilled. I checked out a trailer while in the car. I couldn't hear a word of it, but the premise seemed good.
I agreed to go.
Well....
It was interesting and fun. Overall. I did laugh frequently. There were a lot of F-bombs flying around. A few extremely typical Seth Rogen inappropriate humor sequences saw me burying my face into my husband's arm. The one fast sex scene got the same "hiding my eyes" treatment.
While I wouldn't show it to my kids or want to watch it with my parents or in-laws, I would recommend it to them. Especially my in-laws. I think they'd laugh. But if cussing is a big NO for you, avoid this movie.
Boyz Too Men singing truly was sweet. Thanks for that.

Them calling Seth's character a "Cracker" was hilarious. I made sure the trailer I picked included that scene since I so enjoyed it.

The Soul Destroyer Review -- I SOOOO Recommend

I'm a huge Elicia Hyder fan and have been for several years now. I own ALL of her books.
EVERY BOOK SHE'S EVER WRITTEN.
Just putting that fact out there because her newest book does not disappoint. The Soul Destroyer is amazing.

Told from the perspective of Warren Parish, the man who is now the Archangel of Death, this is a fast paced story of his fight to save his not-yet-one-year-old daughter's life. Again. And against more than one foe.
No spoilers here, despite how much I want to discuss the many details.

Even though this is book 7 in the series, it could be read without reading the previous books. Sure, you'd be a little disoriented about who everyone is initially but Elicia puts in so much backstory that it will all become clear. Plus there are a ton of new peeps for regular readers. Ionis with his insults to Azrael is my current favorite.

Honestly, if you enjoy stories with angels and demons and the fight between good and evil, READ ELICIA'S BOOKS.
The Soul Destroyer releases on May 31, 2019 -- just in time for SUMMER! I read an Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) because I'm a total fan. I also purchased the book during its preorder phase. The links in this post are Amazon Affiliate links.

Favorite Jeans Converted to Skirt Follow-up

I DID IT! And it totally worked like a charm!

Picture
Ok, I hemmed my skirt with help from my mom.

Did you know that the easier way to get the hem level is to wear the skirt and measure up from the floor?

I literally held a yardstick while my mom circled me to pin the skirt to the correct measure.

I’m extremely proud of how it turned out. So much so that I wore it to an Easter party!
