What My Kid's Are Reading and Watching

My kids are ages 2 and 5. A toddler and a kindergartener. I can get them interested in some of the same things but not always. When I need a free moment or when the toddler wakes too darn early, a good video on the TV or iPad (or my iPhone) can really save my sanity.

Here's what my kids are looking at for September 2017:
So the kindergartener's friends are into Super Hero Girls but she's never seen any of them. Now that she's heard of them, she wants to see what they're all about.

We borrowed this DVD from the library to give her a taste of Super Hero Girls.
A recent birthday party introduced both girls to Elena of Avalor--now everything is Elena of Avalor.

We purchased season 1 via Amazon video but this episode wasn't included. I'm looking forward to seeing how Disney tied Sophia and Elena together.
Not a day goes by without the toddler demanding, "Ittle Beer, Momma!"

Maurice Sendak's Little Bear is a family favorite. My eldest watched these like crazy. These videos are simply sweet and perfect for small kids. My favorite character is Duck.

I linked to the first episode of season 1. Highly recommend just buying the full season rather than episodes.
Kindergartener brought this home from the school library. I LOVED this series as an older kid. Even told my mother, "I wish I were a red-headed orphan from Nova Scotia."

I'm thrilled to be introducing my kiddos to Anne Shirley, Marilla, Matthew, and Gilbert. Be sure to check your library for a copy before buying.
Llama llama is a series that we've been enjoying for a number of years now. My husband knows that, if the Scholastic newsletter offers one, I'm likely to buy it. He doesn't let me go in the kids section of Barnes and Noble for the same reason.

Below are some of our favorites.
Little Critter by Mercer Meyer...another set of books that I pretty much buy whenever I see them. We were getting too many though, so I started borrowing them from the library.

My favorites are I Was So Mad and Just Go To Bed. My eldest is most fond of Just Me And My Dad.
That's it for this month. Hope you enjoy some of these kid recommended items that come with parental approval!
Note: links above are Amazon Affiliate links. I will earn a small amount of moola if you buy using them--at no extra charge to you. If you have the time, check around to your local library and see if you can get the books/videos/DVDs from them--I ALWAYS do this.
